Vision & Mission

In Matthew 5:13–14, Jesus tells us that we are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. With these verses in mind, we formulated the Vision and Mission of AFM Houtkruis.

For God, For Each Other, For the World

Hit the Mark

Have you ever wondered what the point is if there’s a flashy church in your neighborhood—but that church misses the very purpose for which God planted it? In reality, such a church means nothing at all! It might as well be a car dealership!

In Matthew 5:13–14, Jesus tells us that we are to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. With these verses in mind, we formulated the Vision and Mission of AFM Houtkruis.

For God

A Spirit-filled congregation made up of true disciples of Jesus Christ—dedicated to the Lord, progressing in spiritual maturity, humble in service, and realizing their divine potential.

For Each Other

A community where the love of the Lord is clearly visible, and every individual feels at home, comfortable, and safe. A spiritual family that embraces imperfections and differences in love, encouraging one another to reach greater heights.

For the World

A congregation with a passion (a missionary heart) for others that reaches out with friendship to strangers and sinners. Through functional ministries, we effectively serve and impact the broader community. We proclaim the pure gospel and affirm that Jesus Christ is the only Way, Truth, and Life.

Our Mission

To make true disciples of Jesus Christ among all nations; to equip them for ministry in reconciliation; and to guide them to spiritual maturity and sanctification. (References: Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 5:18; Lev. 20:7)

Symbolism of Our Church Emblem

The cross is central to AFM Houtkruis’ emblem. It represents the all-surpassing grace and love God demonstrated by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross, thus permanently restoring the broken relationship between God and humanity (Heb. 4:14).
